For 2019, Hyundai has rebranded its five-passenger Santa Fe Sport to the Santa Fe. Santa Fe used to be a nameplate that applied to a seven-passenger SUV. Already, the new five-passenger Santa Fe is earning recognition from critics and drivers alike.
For example, the new 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe was recently named to the 2018 Wards 10 Best UX list for its superior user experience regarding features like navigation, voice-activated technology, connectivity, and driver-assist safety tech.
“As vehicles become more connected and sophisticated, a driver’s ability to comfortably interact with the features is an important part of the overall driving experience,” explained John Robb, director, Electric Systems Development, Hyundai America Technical Center. “We are at a pivotal point in the industry regarding the evolution of in-vehicle user experiences and are inspired by this recognition as a leader in this competitive space.”
The 2019 Santa Fe Ultimate trim in particular earned WardsAuto’s attention. According to Hyundai, WardsAuto praised the Santa Fe Ultimate for its plethora of USB ports, easy-to-reach buttons in the center stack, 360-degree camera, head-up display, and effective voice control.
For 2019, the Santa Fe includes the AVN 5.0 navigation system, complete with Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ smartphone integration. On base Santa Fe models, drivers will have access to a 7-inch user interface; moving up the trim levels, drivers can add features like available Qi wireless charging.
Audio technology includes the user-friendly 12-speaker Infinity stereo system. Sante Fe models can also be equipped with Hyundai Blue Link with three years of free services.
