For 2019, Hyundai has redesigned the Elantra sedan and made safety a top concern. One of the top 2019 Hyundai Elantra safety technologies is Hyundai SmartSense, which includes a number of available driver-assist safety features. These include Safe Exit Assist, Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist, Driver Attention Assist, and Lane Keep Assist.
Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist features Automatic Emergency Braking and Forward Collision Warning. These two technologies are of particular significance: Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) data demonstrates that these two features reduce your chances for a rear-end collision by 50 percent. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) also presents interesting data: 94 percent of vehicle crashes are the result of human error, which increases the importance of features like Lane Keep Assist and Driver Attention Assist.
But safety features aren’t the only exciting content on the new 2019 Elantra. The exterior gets a new grille, headlights, front fenders, front fascia, trunk, rear fascia, taillights, and wheel designs. Inside, the Elantra boasts a new instrument cluster and center cluster. Interior features include a standard 5-inch color audio system, Infinity premium audio with eight speakers, and a standard rear view camera with dynamic grid lines.
