Warm weather is finally here, so it’s time to start getting your car ready for spring. Follow these quick tips on making your car spring and summer ready.
Winter is rough on your car, so spring is all about helping it recover from the cold, harsh weather. One thing you should do is clean the undercarriage of your car. From snow and slush and dirt splashing on it and freezing onto the undercarriage to road salt battering it, winter is a perfect storm of rust-causing conditions.
Don’t stop there, though—clean the whole outside of the car as well as the inside. You track in a lot of yuck over the course of the winter, so for the car’s longevity as well as your own comfort, vacuum the carpets, clean off the dashboards, and wipe down your windows from the inside.
Next, focus on the mechanical stuff. Make sure your brakes are still in good condition, especially the pads, since you put them through their paces during the winter. Check your tire pressure and alignment—or, if you had winter tires on, switch them over to all-season ones. Winter tires are too soft to function well in warmer temperatures. Finally, don’t forget to check and replace your windshield wipers!
Of course, we at Wright Hyundai would be more than happy to do it for you, so give us a call to schedule service!
