The most frightful night of the year is quickly approaching, which means it’s time to prepare your children for trick-or-treat night. Once the costumes and bags are in order, sit your kids down for a talk about safety. We here at Wright Hyundai have a few Halloween safety tips that we’d like to share in celebration of the upcoming holiday!
Plan a Route
There are two benefits to planning out your trick-or-treat route ahead of time: safety and efficiency. Planning a route ahead of time allow you to avoid areas without streetlights, allowing to keep your children visible at all times. Planning ahead is also more efficient, allowing you to make the most of the few hours of candy gathering!
Have a Checklist
No parent wants to trek back to the house to get something their child forgot. Create a checklist prior to trick-or-treat night with crucial supplies. Parents should travel with a bottle of water, any emergency identification information, and a mobile device, just in case. It wouldn’t hurt to add must-have costume items such as reflective strips or glow sticks, either!
Travel in a Group
A group is the most effective way to ensure your child is safe while heading from house to house. There’s safety in numbers, after all. Coordinate with other parents in the area to get a group together for Halloween night.
Have a happy (and spooky) Halloween!
